UX Leader · Product Design · 20 years

I take your product from napkin to a blueprint developers can actually build from.

Twenty years fluent in both stakeholder and engineer. I close the gap between what the business wants and what ships — staying embedded through implementation, never stopping at handoff.

About

I'm a UX leader who's been doing this long enough to have opinions — and the receipts to back them up. Started as a solo UX hire at a Series B IoT startup. Built the practice, grew the team to 22, and shipped a platform that landed five consecutive Gartner Magic Quadrant appearances and clients like Parker-Hannifin, Moen, and Qualcomm.

Before that: enterprise software, financial tools, B2B SaaS. I've done the work across enough verticals to know what transfers and what doesn't. I write BDD scenarios, run sprint ceremonies, do acceptance testing, and still push commits. The gap between design and engineering is where most products fall apart — I've spent my career standing in it.

I'm based in the Twin Cities. Available for senior UX leadership roles: Director, VP, or Principal IC. Happy to talk about the work.

Stays through implementation

Doesn't stop at handoff. Still in Slack at sprint review, catching the things that drift.

Speaks both languages

Translates business intent into engineering-ready specs, and engineering constraints into stakeholder decisions.

Codes. Actually.

1,000+ commits a year in React/TypeScript/Vue. Knows what a developer sees when they open a design file.

Builds and leads

Scaled a UX department to 22. Defined processes that survived org changes and executive turnover.

Let's talk

I'm open to senior UX leadership conversations — Director, VP, or Principal IC. If you're hiring someone who can design it, lead it, and ship it, I'd like to hear about it.
